The Birding Center
The Port Aransas Garden Club is working with the City of Port Aransas to improve the landscaping at the Leona Belle Turnbull Birding Center.
Scholarships
The Port Aransas Garden Club every year awards scholarships to PAISD seniors. The criteria for receiving a PAGC Scholarship is the graduating senior has performed a minimum of 10 hours of voluntary environmental work in the Port A community. We give special consideration to students who plan college work related to the environment.
The Community Center
The Port Aransas Garden Club established the landscaping at the Community Center and provides labor and financial support to keep it attractive. Last year we added new ground cover and several years ago we added the dolphin fountains.
School Gardens
At the Olsen Elementary School reading garden the Port Aransas Garden Club provides several times a year labor to clean, prune, and plant along with financial support to replace new plants when needed.
