Port Aransas Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1964 to encourage interest in beautification of the city.
Proceeds from Club activities are used for landscaping, various civic projects in Port Aransas and
scholarships for Port Aransas High School seniors.
The Port Aransas Garden Club is working with the City of Port Aransas to improve the landscaping at the Leona Belle Turnbull Birding Center.
The Port Aransas Garden Club provided part of the seed money for the fencing so the dogs could have a run and become more socialized. Also PAGC has planted shrubs and trees for shade for our furry friends.
The Port Aransas Garden Club established the landscaping at the Community Center and provides labor and financial support to keep it attractive. Last year we added new ground cover and several years ago we added the dolphin fountains.
The Port Aransas Garden Club has allocated monies for landscaping for the new Art Center.
At the Olsen Elementary School reading garden the Port Aransas Garden Club provides several times a year labor to clean, prune, and plant along with financial support to replace new plants when needed.
The Port Aransas Garden Club contributed start up money to Coastal Defense Memorial which is dedicated to all those who served during WWII. Thank you to VFW Post 8967 and all of our military men and women.
We are working with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to have a urban garden with raised beds available for citizens of Port Aransas to lease and grow veggies, herbs or flowers.
